World Labs Hackathon Demo
Gaussian Splats on iOS
iOSSwiftMetalGaussian SplatsFal
Built during the
World Labs hackathon. The app loads Gaussian-splat scenes (`.spz` files) generated from a few photos and renders them on-device using
MetalSplatter, with
fal-swift wired up for inference calls.
Gaussian splats give you a photorealistic 3D scene that holds up from any angle, but rendering one on a phone is hard — millions of view-dependent gaussians have to be sorted and rasterized every frame. The demo runs smoothly on a stock iPhone, with phone movement walking the camera through the scene.
